At HighGrove Partners, we believe in building business relationships and partnerships with our clients. In that way, we can better understand our client’s needs and serve them the best way possible. Our clients become like members of our family.
And just like we regularly keep up with our relatives and friends, we believe it’s important to connect with our clients consistently.
HighGrove’s involvement with BOMA Georgia
Many of our clients are members of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia). The trade association represents one of the largest and most revenue-generating industries in the state: commercial real estate.
In Georgia, commercial real estate contributes approximately $2 billion to the state’s economy and supports nearly 50,000 jobs, according to BOMA Georgia. BOMA Georgia members are property managers responsible for managing commercial facilities, such as office and retail space.
Because our clients are members of BOMA Georgia and value the organization, we felt it was essential to get involved. This is my 16th year as a member of BOMA, Georgia. I started out attending association meetings and trade shows and soaking up valuable knowledge. Then I started to get more involved, chairing various committees, including the membership committee.
Last year, I was honored to be invited to become a member of their board of directors – a two-year commitment. The organization takes this position very seriously. I went through an extensive interview process, and they also carefully reviewed my record chairing BOMA Georgia committees. This way, they ensure they have an active and reliable board in place.
BOMA Georgia still growing
It’s exciting to be a part of a growing organization. BOMA Georgia started as BOMA Atlanta, but it has grown to include the entire state over the past year. With approximately 1,000 members, BOMA Georgia is one of the largest associations in the BOMA International federation, including more than 90 North American associations and 11 international associations.
In fact, on Nov. 7, BOMA Georgia is celebrating its centennial with a special celebration – something to which all of the members are looking forward.
What I’ve learned as a part of the organization is that property managers wear many hats. Landscape management is just a small percentage of everything that is on their plates. So, I know if we can simplify their lives by making sure they don’t have to worry about landscaping, they can dedicate their time to the other things they have to deal with daily.
Every time I attend a BOMA Georgia event, I encounter robust educational opportunities, strengthen my existing relationships, and meet new people. It’s a terrific organization that always makes you feel welcome.
